Kinds of faults
There are three types of faults. normal fault, reverse fault, and strike-slip fault. a normal is created in Sandia Mountains in new mexico
The normal fault is at an angle,so one block of rock lies above the fault while the other rock lies underneath the fault. Reverse fault
Has the same structure as a normal fault, but the blocks move in the opposite direction. The hanging wall of a reverse fault slides
Up and over the footwall. And strike-slip fault on the sides of the rock they slip pass each other sideways with a little up or down motion.
